Pink Floyd 1970On December 1st, 2010, BBC Radio 6 Music in the UK will be airing their regular "Live Music Hour". Despite the terrible scheduling which means it broadcasts between 4-5am, the show does feature Pink Floyd recorded in concert at the BBC's Paris Studios in London in 1970, alongside BBC session tracks from The Only Ones, recorded in 1980, and The Cardiacs recorded in 1987.

Recorded on July 16th, 1970, the Floyd were accompanied by the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and the John Aldiss Choir, who were conducted by John Aldiss himself. The tracks performed, which were broadcast at that time, were The Embryo, Fat Old Sun, Green Is The Colour, Careful With That Axe, Eugene, If, and Atom Heart Mother. Obviously, we don't know which of these BBC Radio 6 will air next week.

BBC Radio 6 can be heard within the UK, and in many parts of Europe, via DAB digital radio, digital cable/satellite TV, and online. You'll also be able to listen to the show once aired via this link to the BBC's iPlayer service. Our thanks to David Haddock for the info on this broadcast.
