Aussie Floyd to tour 3D show next year

Aussie Floyd 2011 tourAs most of you are aware, there are many Pink Floyd tribute bands and shows across the world, bringing good music (played with varying degrees of success!) to local pubs, clubs, halls and even major arenas. With the sheer number of them, it is impossible to provide coverage of these bands, but occasionally there are rare exceptions.

However, the incredibly popular Australian Pink Floyd show are old friends - they first performed in the UK back in 1993 at the debut Brain Damage fan convention - and they have just announced their 2011 plans for a greatest hits tour of Europe, involving 3D technology for the visuals!

The tour, which includes a number of ex-Floyd crew amongst its team, promises an "even bigger and better show, the trademark lighting and laser show", and "a brand new quadraphonic sound system and cinema quality 3D visuals". The technology they'll be using is the same as used in 3D cinemas, where the audience wears 3D polarized glasses. Sounds intriguing in a concert setting, with quad sound...
