BBC Radio 2's Radcliffe and Maconie Show on Monday, May 10th, includes Mark and Stuart interviewing former Pink Floyd manager Peter Jenner, who remembers the band's founding member Syd Barrett, while a live session from Robyn Hitchcock includes a Syd Barrett track. Jenner, along with Andrew King, headed Blackhill Enterprises who were the Floyd's first management team, parting company with the band when Syd left in 1968. Blackhill employee Steve O'Rourke took over as manager and held the role for over three decades. It should be an interesting interview with the band's early boss, as the show's hosts have tended to be intelligent and insightful hosts in previous Floyd-related shows. The show airs between 8pm-10pm BST (GMT+1hr). BBC Radio 2 can be heard on DAB and FM radio, via Freeview, Sky satellite and Virgin Media cable, and via www.BBC.co.uk/radio2, which will allow listeners around the world to tune in. The BBC's iPlayer service (at their website, and on Virgin Media) will allow listening on demand for seven days from the date of broadcast, principally for those in the UK, but this does also work in some other countries. |
