Tangerine Dream to release Syd tribute album

2007 seems a good year for musical pioneers to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Sharing this auspicious celebration with Pink Floyd, who also started their professional career in 1967, Tangerine Dream have just announced their new album.

Madcap's Flaming Duty, which will be released on April 2nd 2007, is dedicated to the late Syd Barrett who passed away in July 2006. Tangerine Dream are a German electronic group founded by Edgar Froese, who has been the band's only continuous member over their entire career. Well known for their atmospheric and ethereal music, the band have provided soundtracks for over forty films and also television series.

tangerine dreamRecorded in Vienna and Berlin during October 2006, the album features Froese, along with other long term members Thorsten Quaeschning, Chris Housle, Bernhard Beibl, Linda Spa, Gynt Beator, Thomas Beator, Iris Camaa, and Vincent Nowak.
