The NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) is the UK's leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. They have been directly involved in protecting children and campaigning on their behalf since 1884. This Wednesday, November 6th, , the NSPCC release a set of Christmas Cards, entitled "The Twelve Days Of Christmas", each featuring a verse from the famous carol. The photos have been taken by acclaimed royal and society photographer, Lord Lichfield. All the participants - stars of sport, fashion, music, TV and politics - gave their time for free, for the cards which are being sold through UK branches of Woolworth at £4.99 a set.

Apart from being a very good cause, the twelfth day is interesting to readers of this site. Being "Twelve drummers drumming", it features the following: Mick Avory (The Kinks), Roger Taylor (Duran Duran), Kenney Jones (The Who), Rob Green (Toploader), Dave Rowntree (Blur), Roger Taylor (Queen), Caroline Corr (The Corrs), Dylan Jones (Earth Sauce), Eds Chester (The Bluetones), Darren Mooney (Primal Scream), Jon Brookes (The Charlatans)... oh, and Nick Mason! All are dressed in black (with the exception of Caroline Corr). Go and buy a set today!
