For those who are in the East Midlands area of the UK, and are not doing anything on Wednesday (April 22nd), a trip to Cadwell Park might prove interesting. Nick Mason will be flying in by helicopter to drive his rather glorious, £1.5million Ferrari 512. The car was raced in 1970 by legends Mario Andretti, Ronnie Peterson and Arturo Merzario, and was seen in the 1971 movie Le Mans, which starred Steve McQueen. The event is a track test event for specialist publications Octane (which Nick has an entertaining, monthly column in), 911, and Porsche World. Click on the thumbnails to the right to see Nick in/with the car itself, at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed. UPDATE: We now understand that the track day is not open to the general public. Expect full reports on the day though in Octane, 911 and Porsche World magazines in due course. |
