STORY UPDATED, April 17th: More dates announced for UK, tickets go on sale this morning... As many of you are aware, there are many Pink Floyd tribute bands and shows across the world, bringing good music (played with varying degrees of success!) to local pubs, clubs, halls and even major arenas. With the sheer number of them, it is impossible to provide coverage of these bands, but occasionally there are rare exceptions. We know that many of you hugely enjoy the Australian Pink Floyd show - who first performed in the UK back in 1993 at the debut Brain Damage fan convention - and they are just started another major tour of the UK. This time they are presenting The Wall live in its entirety, and the new stage production includes animation, lasers and inflatables PLUS a very special 'greatest hits' encore. With the rise in popularity of the band, ever larger venues are needed to cater for the demand. Taking in some of the largest arenas in the UK, they are playing in the same places that the likes of Roger Waters has performed in, in recent years! And thanks to the promoters, one lucky Brain Damage visitor will get a pair of tickets to the band's show at London's Wembley Arena later this month, and a t-shirt to wear at the concert too! "This tour is a great way to celebrate not only the 30th anniversary of the release of the album The Wall but to celebrate the life of Pink Floyd founder member Rick Wright. Rick was such a big part of the whole Pink Floyd sound and we'll be playing every song for him on this tour" said The Australian Pink Floyd Show singer/bassist Colin Wilson. The shows also mark the launch of the band's new, dedicated merchandise website, which can be found at www.PinkKangarooStore.com. Visit the site to see their designs which have a special, Australian twist! To be in with a chance of that pair of tickets to see the band at London's legendary Wembley Arena, and a t-shirt too, you need to answer the following questions about the venue:
- When Pink Floyd performed there during the 1970's, what was the venue known as? You need to email your answer to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with "Aussie Floyd" in the subject line. You will also need to say what t-shirt size you'd like. You have until 11:59pm BST on April 23rd to get your entries in to us. Good luck! 2009 UK tour dates:
