Legendary French choreographer Roland Petit, a veteran who has worked with greats like Rudolf Nureyev and Fred Astaire over a 60-year career, has just announced his latest work, to be performed at the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo in February, 2004. "Pink Floyd Ballet" was originally performed with Pink Floyd in 1972-73, and has been handed down from generation to generation. It has also been seen in Dirk Sanders 1977 film of the event.

In this new production, Charlotte Talbot and other top world dancers are involved - 100 dancers in all, with the troupe Asami Maki Ballet leading (the troupe includes Tamiyo Kusakari, Mizuka Ueno and others).

The songs that will be used include: Echoes / One of These Days / Obscured By Clouds / When You're In / Careful with that Axe, Eugene / Money / Run Like Hell / Is There Anybody Out There? / Nobody Home / Hey You and other tracks... A special recording will be made, rather than the band performing behind the dancers.

Details can be found at the Asami Maki Ballet website which includes the event poster here. Our very great thanks to Sohnosuke Imai, who told us about the event and took the additional effort of translating the details from Japanese, and did a great job!
