Pink Floyd in Mojo Magazine

The new issue (cover date February 2004) of UK magazine Mojo is now available and definitely one to get!

As part of its forty-five page "mind-bending extravaganza" looking at Acid from the 60's to the 90's, there are some fascinating features. There's a big look at Jim Morrison and The Doors (including the new version, D21C or The Doors For The 21st Century), Spirit, and Primal Scream, but more importantly, there's lots of Floyd coverage!

First and foremost, there's a big article on the UFO, covering Floyd appearances, and two rare pictures of the band there, including a great full page colour shot of Roger in action. A great picture, not seen elsewhere! The regular "Time Machine" feature looks at February 1980, and the first show of The Wall tour. There's four great live pictures, too!

The 14 Hour Technicolor Dream figures as number 3 in the list of "ten triumphant acid happenings" (with a picture of Syd and Richard on stage during the show, being filmed!), and Syd gets ninth place in the list of "bad trips". Hmm...

Finally, there's a bit of news in the issue of something coming out later in the year which should be of great interest to us all. Joe Boyd, record producer for the Floyd amongst others, and co-founder of the UFO club in London, is bringing out a book later this year about the music scene in the 1960's. Should be a good read! More info as we have it...

The magazine is sold internationally, but if you can't get hold of it, try calling their back issue credit card hotline (£4.50 UK, £6 elsewhere) on +44-1858-438829 (or 01858-438829 in the UK).
