Final Cut press campaign

Shown to the right, is the new UK press advertisement for the forthcoming reissue/remaster of Pink Floyd's The Final Cut album. Quite a striking, if low key advert, it does unfortunately have the old UK/European release date of March 22nd. As reported on these news pages, it is being delayed a week, appearing instead on March 29th.

The advertisement has already appeared, full page, in the latest issues of Mojo Magazine, and Word Magazine, and is expected to appear in similar publications over the next few weeks.

Mojo Magazine also includes a look at "The Mojo 100 Epic Rock Tracks" - in which Shine On You Crazy Diamond gets the number four spot. They say: Floyd's nine-part epic drifts, like bong smoke, over two sides of the original vinyl LP, driven by a four-note guitar figure as exciting as it is simple. Inspired by their lost ex-frontman Syd Barrett, the song seemed especially prescient when a confused, unrecognisable Barrett showed up at the studio while they were recording...

Meanwhile, on the pages of Word Magazine, they cast an eye on the 110 Songs "You Have To Hear!" and curiously not a single Floyd track is included!

Our thanks to Chris for the scans!
