This weekend's UK newspaper the Sunday Express included a small piece on Nick Mason, asking him about his forthcoming written history of Pink Floyd. Mason said: "I am writing the book like I write music, at any time and whenever the fancy takes me." Recently, Nick contacted us at Brain Damage, seeking suggestions over some of the content of the book (which we were delighted to help with). Despite the book not being finished, it is still due for release at the start of September.

Nick said in the Sunday Express that "it felt like the right time to write it, but I am absolutely loathe to have launch party with everyone guzzling champagne. I would like to mark its publication but not with a big bash."

The piece suggested that Nick is being beaten to the punch with Roger Waters' version of "the last days" of the band, that will appear in the June edition of the UK's Uncut Magazine (as revealed on these news pages on April 4th!). Whilst the magazine, due in the shops on Thursday, sounds fascinating, Nick's book covers the complete history of the band, so we're sure he's not too worried by this!

In the meantime, advance orders of his book are already been taken (at a reduced price) through our Amazon links. As yet, a release date for the US market hasn't been confirmed but looks to be the same date as other countries.
