A revised version of Pink Floyd drummer and gentleman racer Nick Mason's 1998 book aimed at petrolheads, "Into The Red: Twenty-one classic cars that shaped a century of motor sport" (known as "At The Limit" in the US), is being published by Virgin Books on September 9th this year.

Nick has updated it to include recent acquisitions, including the McLaren F1, which was the fastest production road car in the world, when it was released to the public! It also comes with a revised CD of each car featured in the book, going through its paces on various race tracks.

The original book, pictured to the right, was a wonderful tour through some (some!) of Nick's extensive collection of cars, from a 1901 Panhard B1, right through to his Ferrari F40 from 1989, and Porsche 962 from the following year. Added to this are anecdotes of his racing and the odd Floyd event!

The new version promises plenty of new pictures, with updated text. We'll be doing a full review of this edition as soon as we can; in the meantime, pre-orders are already being taken on the following links: UK/Elsewhere, France, or Germany. The US edition is expected to be released around the same time, but we are waiting confirmation of the finalised date. We'll let you know. Our thanks to Helen at Virgin for her help!
