Further to our previous news stories concerning the release of Alan Parsons' new album "A Valid Path" on August 24th, which includes the guitar playing of Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, we've spent some time with the album so that we can let you know what we think of it. Be sure to check out our review (it can be found in our Reviews section).

"A Valid Path", on Artemis Records, is Parsons' first record in five years, and has him leaping into the world of electronica music, tempered with soaring guitar solos, provided in part by Gilmour.

Artemis have made two tracks available online for you to preview - click the following RealMedia links to hear for yourself:

For fans of Alan Parsons, there is a chance to hear the album live, in a very unusual venue... Alan will lead his Alan Parsons Live Project band in a special concert on the 2004 Home Theater Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's new flagship Voyager Class ship, the Mariner Of The Seas on the Friday night of the seven-day cruise to the Western Caribbean (October 24th to 31st)! Alan will also take part in a day of personal demos conducted by all the famous recording engineers signed onto this year's cruise, including Frank Filipetti, Michael Bishop, Mike Sokol, Gary Mraz, Brant Biles, and Eric Lindemann. He will be reflecting on his recent recorded work in 5.1 surround sound, including On Air (DTS Entertainment) and his new upcoming release, A Valid Path (to be released at a later date by 5.1 Entertainment on DVD-A format).

More information on this event and the cruise can be found at www.hometheatercruise.com.

Parsons, one of the most well-known engineers and producers, worked on classic albums like Let It Be, Abbey Road, and Dark Side of the Moon, for which he earned one of his ten Grammy nominations. He emerged in 1976 as the artist behind his own group, The Alan Parsons Project, which has had its own successes over the years.

Pre-orders for the album are currently being taken through our links at Amazon across the world.
