We have just heard that the next release in the Pete Townshend 'signature' series of CDs will be an expanded version of the Deep End show from November 2nd 1985. The Deep End shows had a very special person on guitar - Pink Floyd's David Gilmour! An abbreviated version of the set was made available many years ago, but this new version promises the whole concert. As with the two sell out shows performed by the band at London's Brixton Academy, all profits from the sale of this release will go to the Double O Charity. The double CD will be released exclusively through www.eelpie.com in the next few weeks. We are in contact with them, and as soon as we have a date when orders can be placed, we will let you know. The band, featuring Townshend and Gilmour, also included John "Rabbit" Bundrick, Simon Phillips, Chucho Merchan, Peter Hope Evans and Jody Linscott as well as the Kick Horns, and anyone who remembers the show will recall what a tight unit they were, and what great shows they were. A couple of tracks from David's About Face album were performed, alongside Who classics, and Townshend solo pieces, chiefly from the White City project. The tracklisting for the CD is:
