INTERVIEW UPDATE "They looked at a quite a few pictures and Jools had marked many pages of interested but there simply wasn't the time to go through them all. Although you have to wonder if the interview may have been cut for other reasons! Nick joked to me afterwards that he could be in serious trouble with the Beeb after the blatant plugging on Top Gear!" Our thanks to Mark for the clarification. The aired interview did seem short and a bit fragmented, and now we know why. Finally, in another (short!) interview, quoted on the Contact Music website, Nick expresses his amazement that the band carried on, despite heavy criticism from Scottish audiences: THE WALL drummer sunk to an all-time low whilst performing with the seminal band in Scotland, where the harsh rebuttal given to them deflated the musician's confidence. Mason says, "They hated us. "But what's interesting is that we didn't just jack it in - because after you've done your tour of Scotland and they've all said, 'F**k off,' you wonder why do we think it'll be ok next time?" The influential group's disillusionment was further compounded by an experience at a Catholic youth club where the promoter refused to pay them on the grounds they weren't playing proper music. Pink Floyd went on to lose a small claims court case brought against the promoter. Our thanks to Ben for tipping us off about this...
