As with Friday, we have two bits of Roger Waters-related news for you today - news of how you can see the EPK (electronic press kit) of Ça Ira, and information on an upcoming interview on US radio tonight, streamed worldwide on the internet.

Firstly, that interview. Last night, US satellite radio station XM Pops, one of XM Radio's classical music offerings, had an hour-long special presentation in its "Boundaries" series, with Roger interviewed at length whilst selections from his opera were played. The interview, broadcast at 6pm EST, is repeated THIS EVENING at 11pm EST (GMT -5hrs) and if you are not in the US, or not a subscriber to XM Radio, fear not - you can still listen in! Go to XMRadio.com where you can sign up for a free, three-day trial to listen via their website. Apologies for the short notice on this one!

The interview covered a lot of ground that Roger has visited in other interviews - the inspiration and creation of the opera, and so on. At the end of the show, though, Roger was prompted to look into the future.

Asked about his work on the rock side of things, Roger responded: "I have done a LOT of recording with my band, and I've got a lot of songs in the can. I think I've been trying to make them homogenised into a record. And I think there's really going to be two records; one that's about love and sex, kinda like Pros & Cons but twenty years later, and another that's very political. It's about us tearing each other apart, and how reprehensible I believe that to be. So there's passion in both projects, but hopefully they will come out as seperate works, and hopefully they'll come out early enough for me to tour, sometime within the next eighteen months or so... er... whatever! I definitely feel I have one more tour in me at least, and I intend to take the opportunity of the fanbase that's out there, to go and gather in some of that love and attention."

He also took the opportunity to clarify that he HADN'T, in fact, quit the UK due to the fox-hunting ban. He'd been misquoted by a journalist, having said that it was "almost enough" to make him want to leave the country.

The official Sony Classical EPK (or Electronic Press Kit) can now be viewed online. Use the following links to see it:

The EPK is an interesting, nearly eight minute look at the work, with Roger talking in a relaxed fashion about it. With clips of the orchestra at work, under Roger's watchful eye, it is an interesting item, that is definitely worth looking at.
