The new issue of the UK's Mojo Magazine, which was published today, features a huge interview with Kate Bush on the eve of the release of her new album, Ariel.

The interview has Kate on illuminating form, talking of her career and, of course, the long-awaited new album. As part of the article, the magazine approached David Gilmour, to find out the story behind his key role in her story.

He talks at length of the work involved in getting some good, listenable demos recorded, at one point using his friends, the band Unicorn, as backing musicians. He explained that it wasn't until he was in the studio with the rest of Pink Floyd, recording Wish You Were Here at Abbey Road in London, that he was able to play the tapes to some reps from EMI in another control room. The rest was history...

He talks of her being a true artist, and on the question of if she ever reminds him of Roger Waters, he answered: "No. Much prettier, much nicer"!

The magazine is available now in the UK, and shortly in selected outlets overseas as an import. It can also be obtained via mail order - enquiries to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 01858 438806 (outside the UK: +44 1858 438806).
