This year's show, being held at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London, promises a powerful evening of words and music. This year they "give voice to people from around the world who face tyranny – personal or political – in their daily lives". In addition to Roger, performers include George Alagiah, Simon Callow, Julie Christie, Joanna Lumley, Ian McKellen, Antony Sher (co-patron), Patti Smith, Juliet Stevenson, Patrick Stewart, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Richard Wilson. UPDATE [June 5th]: Roger's manager has just confirmed to us that Roger will be taking the stage with his son, Harry, who will be playing the piano to accompany his father on a special version of Leaving Beirut. The show is scheduled to start at 7pm and tickets are now available via www.criesfromtheheart.co.uk. |
