WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD! Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played!Following the show in Mumbai, India, the tour then moved to the United Arab Emirates for a sell-out concert at Media City. One small change was the lack of pig during Sheep, but other than this, the show was unchanged. The band now have just over a week off, before the fun resumes in Mexico for three shows over there... CONCERT REVIEW AND PICTURE - by BD contributer, Farshad Just arrived home after a fantastic show - Roger's concert in Dubai Media City. One of the greatest nights of my life. I had a flight from Tehran - Iran just to see him, like other Iranians in the show. The Iran flags with "Dear Waters, Iranians love you" marked on them flew to show Roger how much Iranians love him, and of course he knows. The set list was as before. In comparison with the 2006 Tour (I went to the Istanbul concert and also watched "Tripped out in Cork" DVD), some of the films on the huge screen were changed and of course they were great. There was no flying pig in Dubai during Sheep. The sound and lights were perfect as always. The highlights of the show were every second of it. The complete show was fantastic and everyone performed very well, even the audience!!! Roger and the band clearly enjoyed themselves, and so did the audience. One of the greatest moments of the show for me, was when he looked at my eyes and smiled... CONCERT REVIEW AND PICTURE - by BD contributer, Hassan AMAZING!!!! When you go to see Roger Waters, you will expect that it’s going to be a great show but Waters keeps surprising us, it was extra-ordinary show!! He’ll take of a level of thinking and dreaming that you have never reached before… You wish that the show will continue forever… this is how music should be! This is how concerts should be! CONCERT REVIEW AND PICTURE - by BD contributer, Michael Asmar Second time seeing him live and even more to appreciate compared to Istanbul concert. Roger is the unique symbol of modern music and for this his performance, band, stage and every little thing is unique. The sound quality was much better even though there was nothing wrong with it last time, and the audience were so cool. The majority were from Iran not forgetting fans from India, Egypt, Philippines... and nearly all around the world except for locals of course!!! The low points were the way the local security treated us, every one was so disappointed. First they did not give us the stupid bracelets upon entrance! As a result when they wanted to open the doors they asked the crowd to go back and get the bracelets otherwise they would not be permitted to enter! You can imagine what chaos this would cause. During the concert they kept jumping up and down trying to spy over people with cameras something usually done at the entrance gate. Anyway this was shameful for a place as reputable as Media City. Roger seemed very impressed about the noise the crowd made during the performance and the crowd really enjoyed it when he appreciated their cheers and feelings. Thank You Mr. Roger Waters for giving us the chance. CONCERT COMMENTS AND PICTURES - by BD contributer, Mohamed (Moe) Amin & Olga The night was amazing by all means, we were so lucky to actually to stand on the very first row. The audience was amazing - everybody was happy, chilled, and sang along with Roger who said he enjoyed the show and thanked the audience. CONCERT COMMENTS AND PICTURES - by BD contributer, Ahmed El-Shafie It was a great night, let us hope he'll come back soon... CONCERT PICTURE - by BD contributer, Amin CONCERT REVIEW - by BD contributer, Safa Hatami (click thumbnails to see pictures full size) It's a miracle, you should have been there - that's what I mean. Everything was fantastic and the gig was absolutely perfect; you could see the glory of Roger's music. "Watchin' the watcher over the dreams!!!" This was my second time but seemingly it was my first and I like to be there when I can. Last time in Istanbul (June 2006) we were lunatic by his performance and this time in Dubai we were really fucked up. For me every moment of his concert is a world that I can't explain and undoubtedly for all the Iranian guys who were there, there are such feelings. If 50% of the crowd in Istanbul was Persian, I think this time 90% were his Iranian fans who made really great noises and were in Dubai just for Roger and for no-one else (such as one of the most famous actors of Iranian cinema!!!) Although before the start we had an awful problem at the entrance relating to the bracelets, to be in the first row was amazing for us. Our situation was in the right corner under the screen, and over and over again Roger came to us and stood in front of us, playing. Wooooow, no comment, imagine how we felt! We had 2 flags - one of them was a painting of The Wall album and another was writing for his attention: "Hey You! We are Persian". Anyway, the set list was the same as Istanbul and the other concerts. When he sang "Southampton dock" I must say explaining our feelings and what we experienced is so hard. I just wanna tell you, we had the best time with him and his band (all of them).
Thanks god, Thanks Roger, Thanks Persian Guys CONCERT REVIEW and pictures - by BD contributer, Saad Abbasi This was the greatest night of my life. I had been waiting for this day since November 2005, I had read a interview where Roger stated he had planned a World Tour for 2007 and I hoped to god that he'd come to Dubai - since that is the nearest he'll come to where I live - so you can imagine my excitement when I first learned he's coming. I flew from Karachi to Dubai a day before the concert. The show itself was fantastic, beyond my wildest expectations. I was in the 2nd or 3rd row a bit to the right. The highlights, for me, were Mother, Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun, Sheep, Southampton Dock, Perfect Sense. But to be honest, every song was beyond words. By the end of the show, during the second guitar solo of Comfortably Numb, I remember thinking, "its already over" and it was. Those 3 hours are among the best moments of my life.
