He is amongst the performers taking part in the VH1 Save The Music Foundation's 10th anniversary gala, and indeed is closing the event with Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2). He will be joined on stage by Dave Kilminster, a children’s orchestra and choir made up of children, and gospel singers. STORY UPDATED: View some of the rehearsals for the show, and the performance itself! The event will take place at the The Tent at The Lincoln Center in New York City, and other performers taking part will include Jon Bon Jovi and John Mayer. All tickets are now sold out. Honorees at the September 20th event will include former President Bill Clinton, and his wife, Senator Hillary Clinton, alongside Mariah Carey, the organization's founder John Sykes, and NAMM, the International Music Products Association. The gala will recognise the contribution that these people have made to the Foundation, helping change children's lives for the better.
For more information on the event, the associated charity auction, and the foundation itself, go to www.vh1.com/partners/save_the_music. Roger also talks a little about the children involved, and how well they've done.
Dave Kilminster Manny's Music can be found at 156 West 48th Street (between 6th & 7th Ave). FURTHER UPDATE: the following video clip shows some of the performance, rehearsals, and also has Roger talking about the children and the event:
