dgrahdvd David Gilmour's blog has announced details of a fascinating pair of events, taking place first on Thursday, September 6th at 7:30pm UK time for those in the UK and Europe - and tickets are due to go on sale (for the UK chunk of it) tomorrow morning! The second takes place on September 15th and is for North American fans.

The event celebrates the release of his forthcoming live DVD, Remember That Night, and sees footage from it being screened alongside a live performance and Q&A from the man himself!

The footage will be screened at participating cinemas - there's around 120 cinemas across the US, 50 in Canada, 15 in the UK and a handful in Denmark, Germany, Norway, Spain and Sweden. Full details of all the cinemas will be given on David's blog shortly, but click here for the UK cinemas, and click here for the Netherlands cinemas - tickets are due to go on sale Thursday morning for these, all Picturehouse Cinemas.

The blog reveals the difference to other similar simultaneous performances that have been held in the past by other artists. On that night - Thursday 6 September - there will be a premiere at London's Leicester Square. David will be performing a song live on electric guitar, then sitting down with the rest of the world to watch a special cinematic HD version of 85-minutes of concert footage from London's Royal Albert Hall. David's performance will be broadcast, live, to all the participating cinemas, via satellite. So, not only do you get to see the concert, you also get to see David performing... David will also be doing a live Question and Answer session.

The Q&A will be taken from questions that fans submit via his blog - and they will have details of how to do this shortly. You'll need to submit it either via a webcam recording, or as a picture and audio file.

The event will be presented in association with BBC Radio 2, but we have no news yet as to the extent of the BBC's involvement.

Whilst many in the UK will be happy with the live link-up, and seeing the event in the comfort of their local Picturehouse cinema, be aware that you do have the option of attending the premiere at the Odeon in London's Leicester Square. So think carefully before you buy tickets for your local cinema, as no refunds are available from Picturehouse if you decide to go to the Odeon premiere instead.
