prog_rock_cover_2007Published this week, "Classic Rock Presents Prog Rock" is a 132-page look at how the 70s scene made its impact on rock forever, via Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis and Jethro Tull, with a look to the present day of bands such as Marillion and Radiohead, who show a healthy influence of the genre.

The magazine, a special edition published by the same people who produce the well respected monthly "Classic Rock" in the UK, includes a couple of feature articles/interviews of principal interest to Floyd fans.

The movie "Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii" is given major focus, and includes many quotes from our exclusive interviews with director, Adrian Maben, alongside some nice pictures of the band in action. Elsewhere, a look at concept albums and shows inevitably covers the Floyd, and features a couple of unusual, small live pictures from their early-to-mid seventies concerts.

Tying in with the release of his wonderful new book, "Taken By Storm", album cover designer extraordinaire Storm Thorgerson is interviewed about some of his "proggier" moments.

Yes and Genesis get good coverage within the pages as well, with both bands interviewed at length, and the former being the subject of the cover mounted DVD, boasting exclusive interviews taken from their fully authorised story double-DVD.

Priced at £7.99, the magazine should be available from this week in UK stores, and in due course at selected outlets worldwide as an import. It can also be obtained direct from the publishers by calling 0870-837-4773 in the UK, or +44-1858-438795 from overseas.
