Long sought after, and afforded almost legendary status amongst Floyd collectors, is the compilation album Picnic: A Breath Of Fresh Air. This was released in June 1970 and was particularly notable for the inclusion of the otherwise unreleased classic Pink Floyd track, Embryo.

On the release of the album, the band were reportedly aghast, as it was an unfinished demo of the track which Harvest used without checking first.

Let's hope that the band are now happier that fans hear the track, as EMI/Harvest reissue the album, expanded to a 3CD set, this coming Monday, April 16th, in the UK!

The new version is called "A Breath Of Fresh Air: A Harvest Records Anthology 1969 - 1974", and as well as Embryo, it also includes the Floyd's Careful With That Axe Eugene, Syd Barrett's Octopus and Baby Lemonade, Roger Waters and Ron Geesin's Breathe (from The Body soundtrack), and tracks from the likes of Roy Harper, Kevin Ayers, and Deep Purple.
