			<description>
Roger Waters&amp;#39; opera Ca Ira in The Netherlands (2008-tour-zone/may-5th-world-forum-theater-den-haag-the-netherlands-ca-ira.html). (The picture to the right is from the newspaper Noordhollands Dagblad, which ran a major piece on the event)

With thanks to Joke, who supplied the pictures below from the preparations of the event, and Guntmar Ploetzke, the author of this piece who shares his experiences over that weekend, we bring you a wrap-up of what took place. And, from other emails we&amp;#39;ve had, everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time, so congratulations to all involved!

			<title>Pink Floyd's See Emily Play covered by Martha Wainwright again</title>
			<link>http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/pink-floyds-see-emily-play-covered-by-martha-wainwright.html</link>
			<description>
Monday, May 12th sees the release of &amp;#39;I Know You&amp;#39;re Married But I&amp;#39;ve Got Feelings Too&amp;#39;, the third album from singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright. While the record is mainly made up of original material, there are two covers featured: Pink Floyd&amp;#39;s &amp;#39;See Emily Play&amp;#39; and &amp;#39;Love Is A Stranger&amp;#39; by The Eurythmics. Many of you will recall that Martha, along with Kate McGarrigle and Lily Lanken, performed a lovely &amp;#39;Emily&amp;#39; at the Syd Barrett tribute concert at London&amp;#39;s Barbican Hall (archive/roger-waters-and-pink-floyd-at-syd-tribute-full-details.html) which was held a year ago, practically to the day.

With contributions from Pete Townshend (The Who), Garth Hudson (The Band) and her brother Rufus, the album sounds worth checking out. You can order it from: Amazon UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00177Z56O/braindamage-21), Amazon US/International (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0016KJRQG/braindamage-20), Amazon Germany (http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0013XVBR4/braindamage0f-21), or Amazon France (http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0013XVBR4/braindamageon-21). Our thanks to Bert van Kalker for the info!

			<title>Roger Waters as you've never seen him before!</title>
			<link>http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/roger-waters-as-youve-never-seen-him-before.html</link>
			<description>
Rolling Stone (http://www.rollingstone.com) magazine, there&amp;#39;s a very unexpected picture of Roger Waters. Taking whilst he was in the Brazilian Amazon for the Ca Ira concert preparations, it shows him feeding a dolphin in the Amazon River. We couldn&amp;#39;t resist showing you this picture!

The magazine is currently available on US newsstands. International editions are sold around the planet, but content varies between the different versions, so if you are intending to buy the issue for this picture, please check before purchasing!

			<description>

We know a number of you have been eagerly awaiting news of ticketing for Roger&amp;#39;s final show on his 2008 Dark Side Of The Moon mini-tour. Well, thanks to our friend Petrovich from the excellent Russian pink-floyd.ru (http://pink-floyd.ru/archive/2008/May/02/rw_spb_new_tickets.html) site, we now have full information for you!

Petrovich tells us that the concert is being staged as a gift to residents and guests from the St Petersburg city government and the organizers of St Petersburg International Economic Forum, so entrance to the concert is free. However, there is an allocated VIP zone, consisting of six sectors and more than 8000 seats. The ticket prices for this area start at 3,300 RUR, and go up to 16,500 RUR (approximately 90-450 euros). <title>Don't miss your chance to see Roger Waters live, and meet Jon Carin!</title>
			<link>http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/dont-miss-your-chance-to-see-roger-waters-live-and-meet-jon-c.html</link>
			<description>
Many of you will have seen the recent opportunities that Jon Carin has recently given, auctioning off tickets to recent Roger Waters concerts in the US, along with backstage passes so that you can meet Jon. These were to raise money for his daughter&amp;#39;s school in New York, to try to compensate for budget cuts from the city of New York this year.

For those who want to catch one of the final performances of Dark Side Of The Moon, Jon has arranged for one more golden opportunity, though CharityFolks.com:

	4 tickets and backstage passes for the May 18th show at London&amp;#39;s O2 Arena (http://www.charityfolks.com/cfauctions/auction_bid.asp?auctionid=11027 catname=Music mcid=8749)

The auction features great seats for you and your very lucky friends, and with your backstage passes you&amp;#39;ll get to meet the keyboard, guitar and lap steel musician and lead vocalist from Roger&amp;#39;s
band, Jon Carin! A great opportunity, and the auction has just a few days left (finishing on May 13th), so don&amp;#39;t delay...

			<title>David Gilmour participates in Bolan tribute tonight</title>
			<link>http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/david-gilmour-participates-in-bolan-tribute-tonight.html</link>
			<description>

Airing at 10:30pm (UK time) tonight, David Gilmour is one of the contributors in an hour-long tribute to Marc Bolan. The programme, 20th Century Boy: The Marc Bolan Story , on BBC Radio 2, takes a look at the tragically-shortened career of the T-Rex frontman. This is a repeat airing of the tribute, but we know many people missed it first time around.

BBC Radio 2 can be heard on 88-91FM, digital cable and satellite, DAB digital radio, and online at www.BBC.co.uk/radio2 (http://www.BBC.co.uk/radio2), where a Listen Again facility exists to hear the show, on demand, for seven days following its airing.

			<title>Win one of three copies of Pink Floyd-related book</title>
			<link>http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/win-one-of-three-copies-of-pink-floyd-related-book.html</link>
			<description>
A new book, Wish You Were Here: Chapters In The Life Of Rex Roman , has just been published which looks at the life of this British actor (and fading star). His story is inextricably tied up with his favourite band, Pink Floyd, and indeed the book starts with Rex hearing about the Live8 concert, and then looking back on his life. A very funny book, it is also touching, and has many events and references that Pink Floyd fans will identify with and enjoy, including, allegedly, the best-kept secret in rock history !

A pair of live concerts are being held next month to formally launch the book, with a live band, supported by stand-up comedians. The band will be playing some NEW Floyd arrangements and just generally celebrating the music of Pink Floyd.

We&amp;#39;ve got more details of these shows, along with your opportunity to win one of three copies of the limited first-edition run of the book signed by author Simon Ash!
