We're pleased to bring you the exclusive news that publisher Essential Works, in conjunction with the Syd Barrett Estate, are currently assembling 'Barrett', a large format illustrated book centred on the creative life of the late Roger 'Syd' Barrett.

The book will contain a considerable number of rare and unseen photos of Syd throughout his life including many stunning photos of Syd and Pink Floyd as they were bursting onto the scene in glorious Technicolor!

'Barrett' will also contain many of Syd's artworks most of which will be reproduced in print form for the very first time.

As well as the visual content there will be new interviews with those that knew Syd well and are able to discuss his creative output in-depth and shine a light on how this remarkable artist came to capture the imagination of so many people.

'Barrett' will be published in Autumn 2010; it is planned as a limited-edition book likely to cost in the region of £60 and will only be available through the Essential Works website. We'll naturally have more information for you on this book as it gets closer to publication.
