UK Official Charts logoLast night, the UK's Official Chart organisation revealed a new pair of charts, which mark the resurgence of vinyl in the modern music scene. This follows the news that in 2014 vinyl sales figures hit a 20-year high (boosted by a certain release by a band we know well). That trend has continued into the first quarter of 2015, with vinyl album sales up 69 per cent and vinyl single sales up 23 per cent.

As from last night at 7pm, they are now publishing separate charts showing the biggest selling vinyl albums and vinyl singles of the decade so far. Here's the top five...

  1. AM - Arctic Monkeys
  2. The King of Limbs - Radiohead
  3. The Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
  4. Random Access Memories - Daft Punk
  5. The Endless River - Pink Floyd

Wish You Were Here takes the final spot of the top 20.

The Dark Side Of The Moon has spent 214 weeks in the UK Top 40 since its release, achieving its highest chart position - number 2 - in its first week. The Floyd's fifteenth and final studio album The Endless River was the band's sixth UK number 1 and managed 14 weeks in the UK Top 40.
