Pink Floyd - late 1960s promo shotThe Paradox Club in Tilburg, The Netherlands are holding a special Pink Floyd event at the very end of this month, which our Dutch readership might find of interest.

Those of you with long memories will recall a fanzine called Echoes ran by Charles Beterans (who did 20+ issues between 1991 and 2001). To celebrate those days, he is organising an event at the Paradox, on January 31st. The main aim is to catch up with fans old and new, seeing familiar faces again, whilst enjoying some good music. They have the members of Anderson Council performing for the first time in over a decade. Way before the flood of tribute bands, this band played early Pink Floyd songs at Dutch Floyd conventions in the 90s and also once at one organised by JM Esnault in France in 1994. Two of their members eventually ended up as members of The Use Of Ashes who have been releasing psych/folk/electronica records on the Tonefloat label since 1997.

Visitors also have the chance to acquire a test pressing of the Pink Ashes LP, a 11-track tribute to Pink Floyd that will be released for RSD (Record Store Day) 2015. The tracklisting of the LP is: Arnold Layne / Bike / The Gnome / Paint Box / Jugband Blues / Matilda Mother / Golden Hair / Grantchester Meadows / Crying Song / Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun / If.
