BBC Radio 2 haveBBC Guitar Season just launched a listener vote to find the top 100 guitar riffs of all time, the results of which will be revealed in a marathon broadcast next month.

A panel of Radio 2 and 6 Music DJs, critics and record producers have drawn up a list of riffs ranging from Money by Pink Floyd to Metallica's Enter Sandman, via such diverse tracks as The Shadows' Apache, Blondie's Atomic, Chic's Good Times, and Rush's Spirit Of Radio.

Radio 2's Head of Music, Jeff Smith says listeners will love the range of music featured on the list. "We've all been brought up with the most amazing guitar riffs throughout the history of pop music. [The panel has] drawn up a strong and eclectic mix". The poll is part of their Guitar Season.

Fans can cast their vote via the Radio 2 iPlayer page until 5pm (UK) on July 25th. The results of the poll will be revealed one month later - August 25th - across different BBC Radio shows.
