Roger's tour of The Wall returns to Athens, Greece, for a concert that has been announced - but without a venue being confirmed! The date and city were revealed in the European tour press conference on November 15th, with the announcer noting that it will be "such a big show, the venue's probably yet to be built!"
The RogerWaters.com presales will begin soon, with advance tickets available to those who had registered their interest in particular cities. General sale tickets will go on sale shortly after that, through normal outlets (exact dates and outlets can be found via Roger's website). The public sale will also see a limited number of VIP packages made available for each show on the tour.
UPDATE, December 20th
The mystery is solved; Roger waters has now revealed the venue for the Athens, Greece Wall concert on July 31st, 2013. The concert will be held at the Athens Olympic Stadium Spyros Louis (or in Greek, Olympiako Stadio Athinas or simply OAKA) which was originally built in 1979, and renovated in time for the 2004 Olympic Games. It has a maximum capacity of 82,662 for concerts, but with the size of the staging, the figure is more likely to be around the 70,000 mark. Gates open at 5:30pm, and the show starts at 9:30pm. Tickets for the concert go on sale December 21st, 2012, through the official agents, Ticketpro.gr.
In terms of ticket prices, these are at a lower price than other European venues, no doubt due to the current economic conditions in the country. There are two standing areas on the pitch, along with two differently priced categories in the seating. Tickets are priced at €59 and €40 (although for the unemployed, the rear standing area is just €28). A seating/price chart can be seen here.

FURTHER UPDATE, JULY 2013
The venue for this concert has changed from the OAKA Olympic Stadium, to the smaller Terra Vibe Park, which Roger performed in back in 2006. The capacity then was around 20,000. Added to the venue change is the fact that the date has moved one day, from July 31st, to August 1st. Any issues with ticketing should be raised with whom you bought the tickets through (although they may well have already been in touch regarding these amendments).

Roger Waters official Facebook page has the man himself putting it very succinctly: "To all the Greek fans: thank you, you did it- the gig is back on the original date at the original venue. OAKA on July, 31. - Roger"
So, the concert due to take place at OAKA Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece, on July 31st, that recently shifted to Terra Vibe Park on August 1st, has reverted to the original plan. As before, tickets bought for either venue remain valid for the latest iteration of the show.
Our friend George Kargiolakis told us that there seemed to be some concern over the ability to set up the concert at OAKA stadium on the specified date (July 31st), thus a change had to be made. Of course, a lot of fans were not happy about this - not least, the venue is seen as a very poor choice, coupled with the massive disruption to travel and accomodation plans for many. Subsequently, there were a number of protests, but thankfully DIDI Music, the organisers, relented and reverted back to the original venue and date. Roger's thanks implies that he was relieved at the fans' pressure, and there was also a sense that he didn't want to perform at Terra Vibe too.

Night six of the tour, with the re-re-scheduled Athens concert finally taking place on the original date, and original venue. By all early accounts, another storming show! Here's a short TV report on the show:

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, George Kargiolakis
During the last weeks, there was a lot of hype here in Greece concerning the concert, as Roger has a high political profile and even now he does not hesitate to confront with people all around the world in order to express his views. After all, the Wall is clearly an album about politics, society and human behaviour, thus it is obvious that Roger is aware of the rise of neofascist, pro-nazi political parties in Greece, such as Golden Dawn. Of course, he expressed his views about them and about any fascist, and the political party answered to him. The answer was very miserable and weak, and it exposed them even more.
Anyway... concerning the show, it was fantastic as expected, the sound was better than ever and the massive wall was really spectacular. There were a lot of people that watched the show for the first time and some of them haven't listened to The Wall before. In my opinion there were a few cons, such as the performance of "Run Like Hell" and "The Show Must go on". On the other hand, "Hey you" and "Comfortably Numb" were performed really well as the show in general. Of course, the differences between this show and the 3 show a few yrs ago, were small, but I believe that the sound and the massive wall were enough to produce a very good result.
