Roger's tour of The Wall arrives in Washington DC, and the Verizon Center, a venue which was host to the 2010 outing of The Wall. This return visit is sure to be popular, and is the penultimate show on the 2012 US leg.
The RogerWaters.com presales have taken place, with advance tickets available to those who had registered their interest in particular cities. General sale tickets went on sale on November 14th at 10am through this link to Ticketmaster.com. Exact dates and outlets can be found via Roger's website. The public sale will also see a limited number of VIP packages made available for each show on the tour. Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played, and what happened as the night unfolded!
Night seventy of the tour, and the end is most definitely in sight - at least, for this year's shows, if the persistent rumours are anything to go by. Just two more shows now...Philly on the 14th, then a week's gap before the mammoth tour closer in Quebec. First things first though! If you went to this show in Washington, please let us know what you thought of the event, and if anything interesting or different happened if you've been to previous shows and can compare.

My wife and attended the concert last Thursday evening at the Verizon Center. The show was even better than the first time we attended in October 2010. The opening pyrotechnics, synched with the music, were great. And the crashing plane, unbelievable. The show just got better with each tune. The kids in ABITW-II, Hey You, the trial, and the wall coming down.
The crowd was really into it, as we stood for virtually the entire time. The volume was cranked up higher than I recall from the first time. During the 2nd half, I thought maybe a bit too high, as the lyrics were hard to hear on a couple of songs.
Dave K. does an amazing job covering Gilmour's Comfortably Numb guitar breaks. It is, without a doubt, the most spectacular concert in the history of rock 'n roll. As I missed the first shows in 1980-81, I'm grateful Roger decided to tour it again. Roger was very appreciative of the crowd, and also acknowledged the 179 memebers of the crew. What an awesome task, bringing the show and all that goes into it from city to city.
I can't wait for the DVD to come out, which hopefully will include the original show as well. Suffice it to say, all other concerts pale in comparison. Thank you, Roger!

As I've said before, nothing gives me more pleasure than not only watching the crowd during a show but to see the faces of people that have never seen the Wall show or even seen Roger live is great. My friends Brent and Eric were in the latter and it was fantastic to see their faces during the opening of In The Flesh.
Robbie made a couple of mistakes on Mother tonight, something I've never noticed him do before. The band seamed a little off all night to be honest, couple of bum notes here and there and at one point there seemed to be a whole section that seemed flat (music wise).
The biggest thing was Roger's vocals "cracking" during Don’t Leave Me Now, when I say cracking I mean his whole vocals going and him losing the ability to sing! He actually bowed his head down and shook it from side to side before looking up and rubbing his throat, I seriously thought "That was it! His vocals were shot and the show as over", but nope, he recovered really well and within 15 seconds after dropping the next few words an octave he was back to normal! If this wasn’t proof that he's really singing then nothing was! We were all a little shocked at what we had just heard. I would like to see/hear this again but as of yet it doesn't seem to be on Youtube.
I was surprised how loud the crowd were tonight as DC is known for being a bit more relaxed and less enthusiastic than a lot of cities but tonight they were on their feet from the start and didn't once sit down. The rest of the show went without any hitches really.

It had been 1 year, 9 months, 2 days since I saw Roger in the same venue when the show was in its infancy at a mere 16 shows. Tonight was fun, a bunch of us had met up before the show at a Meetup arranged by Simon Wimpenny. It was great to finally meet Simon after all the years of reading his blog and all the other fans there couldn't have been nicer. Just about everyone else at the meetup had traveled from out of town for the show, many from out of the US.

The concert was great! There were a few noticeable changes from when I saw it last and over all it did seem like it was running much better this time around. My floor seat this time was just about as good as you can get for this show - dead center, about 15 rows back. Unless I was seeing the show multiple nights, I really would not want to be much closer. I was surprised to find out that we were not only in the same row, but right next to Simon and his friends. What are the chances of that? As others have mentioned, the crowd this time was much more enthusiastic than in 2010 with everyone in sight on their feet for the entire show.
I can't really add too much to the hundreds of other reviews here other than this will no doubt go down as one of the best tours in Rock and Roll history. I feel truly lucky to have seen this show even a few times! Roger mentioned at the end of the show that they only had two more shows to do after this one and that he was really having a great time on the tour, which was nice to hear! He genuinely seems to be in good spirits and enjoying the tour.
