Whilst this time of year is traditionally fairly quiet on the Pink Floyd news front, we do have a couple of small items for you today: details of some Pink Floyd covers/tributes that have recently appeared, and also news of a Roger Waters related charity-benefiting offering.

First, rock band Heart covers Goodbye Blue Sky on their most recent live CD, Classic Albums Live - Dreamboat Annie Live. This is also available on DVD. There is also a studio version of the song that kicks off Ann Wilson's new solo CD, Hope & Glory, with Nancy Wilson guesting on this track.

We know there are quite a few Heart fans out there, and also plenty of cover version fans, so this should be interesting news for both. All these releases are available at Amazon:

Dreamboat Annie Live CD: Amazon US/International, Canada, UK/Europe, France, or Germany
Dreamboat Annie Live DVD: Amazon US/International, Canada, or UK/Europe
Ann Wilson Hope & Glory CD: Amazon US/International, Canada, UK/Europe, France, or Germany

Canadian BD visitor Frédéric Vandois tells us about another band - Radio Massacre International - who recently released an album called "Rain Falls in Grey".

The album is a release which the band describe in the sleevenotes as "a way of saying goodbye and thanks to a genuine one off", referring to Syd Barrett.

The cover art for this release (see picture to the right) was drawn by Daevid Allen, famous as a key member of the legendary group Gong.

Again, this can be bought through Amazon US/International, Canada, UK/Europe, France, or Germany.

Finally, Ramsay Pennypacker tells us about a new Roger Waters item that isn't cheap, but is an interesting idea and may be tempting for some.

Relix magazine in the US has a charity effort where rock stars donate their used guitar strings, which are then made into bracelets and sold with the money going to a number of worthy organizations. Late last year Roger Waters was added to the list of participating artists.

roger waters string Ramsay bought one of Roger's bracelets - he said he wouldn't think of wearing it but it does make him feel a little more connected to songs like Set The Controls, Careful With That Axe, and One Of These Days.

Check it out at www.wearyourmusic.org, and click the thumbnail to the left to see an example of Roger's string bracelet in more detail. In the artists' directory, Roger is listed under "R" not "W", in case you have trouble finding him there!
