In the UK newspaper the Daily Mail today, Roger Waters reveals a little about the upcoming stage musical based on The Wall.

Roger has been working on the musical for a while, and he suggested that it would perhaps debut late 2009, possibly in New York although London isn't ruled out. "It's got to be solid, so it takes time," Waters told the Mail. They noted that Roger is writing a new number, "a love song with a bit of romance in it", to add to those from the 1979 album.

"I'm going to use Have A Cigar and Money from the Pink Floyd days, and then it's all about structuring them so they serve the piece well," Waters explained. "We'll have a few jokes and a bit of humour. It's not just a case of transplanting the album onto the stage. It's a new piece - a new show, not a catalogue musical," he insisted.
