Let me start off by saying WOW ! My first Pink Floyd-related concert and hopefully not the last. Roger Waters gave the performance of a lifetime last night. I was suprised at how well the show is organized and how big everything is. I'm kinda use to smaller rock bands with not as much effects and screens. The sound was mind blowing.

He spoke in French a bit explaining the story behind his song which talks about him during a hitch hiking trip (pros and cons of being a hitch hiker!). The song itself isn't one of my favorites but the storyline on screen was cool to see so everything balanced out.

I don't know what else to say because I'm still a bit speechless about this experience. Hope that there will be a DVD soon for this tour. I wouldn't see why not.

CONCERT REVIEW - by BD contributer, Maxime Boutet

I went to the Quebec show yesterday, and I swear this was the best show I've ever been to, including DSOTM in Montreal last year, September 21st.

The sound was surprisingly good for the Pepsi Coliseum. Roger's voice was at its best, especially compared to last year. We could feel the feeling he put into his singing, his veins coming out of his forehead as he was totally emotional while performing.

Yesterday's evening began strong with "In the Flesh" being performed by a Roger Waters at full capacity, followed by "Mother".

The whole crowd was singing for a big part of the show, and went totally nuts with applause when "Perfect Sense" came to its second part, adding to the crowd effect already in the song. We could feel like 50,000 people singing at once, even though we were only 9000... A great unity feeling there! Let's not forget the astronaut that flew around for a while, just like he was in space. Thumbs up for the guy who controlled it!

They improved the flying pig compared to last year, during Sheep, which now had beautiful graffitis on it, to close the first half on the show.

There is, indeed, a Dark Side Of The Moon. We uncovered it there.

A very nice 3D intro launched the second half, featuring an incoming satellite, flashing red on the heartbeats from "Speak to me", leading to an incredibly well performed DSOTM. It's always a bit deceiving to not see Waters singing for most of that part, but it's good to finally hear him on the last two songs, Brain Damage and Eclipse. But, I must say that the vocals were excellent anyway.

Some added sound effects, like a passing train, and a stunning surround sound combined to a masterpiece of visual effects made "On The Run" a much better version that it originally was, even though it's always been excellent.

The three vocal solos from "Great gig in the sky" had every single person in the audience absolutely amazed by the power of the voice we heard.

Everyone in the arena went crazy during Brain Damage, when a gigantic 3D prism started to rotate on the ceiling, then it became just perfect when lazer effects had a white light coming out on one side of the prism, plus a colorful rainbow filling the room on the other side, all of that causing the place to raise with loud cheers and applause.

The 5 songs from "The Wall" that made the encores were just like they were on the original album, including incredible solos from Dave Kilminster, who is now coming very close to David Gilmour's talent. I never thought I could say that one day!

CONCERT REVIEW - by BD contributer, Martin Cherre

Awesome !  What a great concert it was at Le Colisée.

In the Flesh started the show with a bang and everyone present seemed to be in for a good time.  Pictures and short movies of Syd Barrett during SOYCDiamond added a sensitive touch to the song now that Syd has left us.  PP Arnold was (again) very solid with her powerful vocal in Perfect Sense. During Part II of that song, the visual aspect was very percussive and a bit subversive, as Roger can be at times. He also got his point over in Leaving Beirut and not a single boo was heard. Carol Kenyon floored us with her rendition of Great Gig, we stood back up and gave her a well deserved standing O. Dave Kilmnister is the best guitar player I've heard (yet) when it's time to reproduce Gilmour's style, sound & touch. The Colisée is notorious for its bad acoustics but it was not noticeable this time : the sound engineer did a great job. Roger was in good spirit and he even addressed the crowd in French on a few occasions.

Quebec City is a distinct place in North America as most of the locals only speak French and have, for some, limited understanding of English. It was a bit strange to hear cheers and hands clapping while Roger introduced Reagan, Thatcher and others during Fletcher Memorial. Misunderstanding from some part of the crowd, nothing else. While Roger is certainly a British gentleman, I noticed that he mumbled a few choice words under his breath after this song. But that crowd was loud between and, at times, during songs. At the end of the Dark Side segment, the crowd was as loud and noisy as it could be. People cranked it up a bit and it became even louder & wilder just before the encores.

Roger said (in French) that he had been touched in his heart by the warmness of the crowd. I can probably speak for all and say that Roger's words and music also touched us deeply. As we were leaving the venue, huge rain showers almost flooded the area, even Mother Nature had to salute Mr Waters visit with a lot of water!

A pristine musical performance, great vocal by the three ladies and a grandiose visual show. I saw Roger in concert in Montreal nine months ago and I didn't think that it could be improved or bettered. Well, I was wrong. Thank you for this unforgettable evening.
