CONCERT REVIEW - by BD contributer, Garret Edwards

First, I think that it's impossible to put into words how special this concert was. From the very beginning, when we could see Roger smoking a cigarette and having a glass of whisky while changing radio stations to the powerful ending with 'Comfortably Numb', everything was just perfect.

I had seen many videos of Roger's tour before going to the concert, so I knew what songs to expect from the list, but that didn't take any of the magic away.

I was in the VIP zone and could see everything perfectly. I even managed to get nearer Waters. Only 5 meters separated me from him. I know for sure that that's a moment of my life that I'll never forget.

There were many highlights, like the 'Set The Control For The Heart Of The Sun' solo, which Snowy White played beautifully. The 'On The Run' FXs were state-of-the-art, and the sound seemed to go through all of us there in the stadium.

There also were many special moments during this night. When the screen showed Syd's images during 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' (everyone applauded), for example. Or when Roger talked about the story behind 'Leaving Beirut' and then proceeded to sing it (during this song I actually burst into tears, it was deeply touching).

The flying pig had new writings, specially added for the occasion. Some worth mentioning are: "¿Dónde está Julio López?" ("Where is Julio López?", "¡Videla, Galtieri, Thatcher, Bush, dan asco!" ("Videla, Galtieri, Thatcher, Bush, you all make me sick!"), "Nunca más desaparecidos" ("No missing people never again"). All related to the situations that Argentina has gone through.

Unfortunately, Roger told us that they wouldn't be able to release the pig into the skies because of the airplanes that were flying near the zone (I saw an airplane flying during 'Wish You Were Here', so it's completely understandable). It's also important to mention the fact that Waters talked about politics and war during 'The Fletcher Memorial Home', showing us how he felt about these issues.

The encore was great! When the band left after finishing playing The Dark Side Of The Moon, everyone started yelling "¡Olé, Olé, Olé, Waters, Waters!" until the band came back to delight us with a few more songs.

The River Plate Children's Choir accompanied Roger all through 'Another Brick In The Wall, Pt. 2'. The whole stadium sang that song, and it was astonishing to see and hear over 50,000 people singing all together "We don't need no education. We don't need no thought control". The final song was one of those moments that are unforgettables, because everyone turned on their cellphones and used them as lights to show Waters our appreciation.

All I can say, in the end, is that it was a magical night. One of those that I will keep forever in my heart. I don't know if Mr. Waters will ever come back to Argentina after this tour (I hope that he does!), but I'm truly glad that I was able to be there to listen to the finest music in rock's history.

CONCERT REVIEW - by BD contributer, Claudio Cknaup

I have no words to describe to you the Roger Waters concert in Buenos Aires City last Saturday and Sunday, in front of 100,000 people.

The concert had a great significance for all the Argentinian people, not only because Roger's political views about George Bush, Tony Blair and the Iraqi war.

Next month, our countries will remember the 25th anniversary of the horrible and despicable Falklands War between Argentina and Great Britain, and a considerable part of the show was dedicated (with songs from The Final Cut album) to the people who died in this conflict.

For that reason the show was really very emotional for all the audience, and I saw the entire concert with tears in my eyes...
