Written by Matt
Thursday, 23 March 2006

Tickets for David Gilmour's 2006 tour sold incredibly quickly, with many fans missing out on the chance to see the man himself run through songs from his new album, On An Island, alongside a selection of Pink Floyd classics. With much thanks to the generosity of a mysterious benefactor, we have a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky Brain Damage visitor in our latest competition!

  2. What's the name of the drummer in David's touring band, and who else has he recently toured with? STEVIE DISTANISLAO, toured with a few musicians recently, most notably C&N and Loggins and Messina, but all accepted

  3. Phil Manzanera is part of David's touring band. What is the name of Phil's recent album that David guests on? 6PM

  4. In what year was the opening concert at the Royal Albert Hall? 1871

  5. On what date did David last play at the Royal Albert Hall, and for what charity? APRIL 1st, 2004 FOR TEENAGE CANCER TRUST

  6. Where and when was the first concert that Jon Carin played with David Gilmour? LIVE AID, 1985 AS PART OF BRYAN FERRY'S BAND

Once you have the answers, most of which can be found on this site, send them via this email link, ensuring that your entry has the subject line of "DG tickets", along with your full mailing address, and a contact telephone number. Entries will be accepted until midnight GMT on April 23rd, with the winner being picked from all the qualifying entries on April 24th, 2006.

The winner will be notified via telephone or email by April 26th, and their name given on this site.

Please note: All entries will be automatically diverted into a special folder, and no correspondence will be entered into. We will not acknowledge entries either. Only ONE entry per person permitted. You will be responsible for any transport or accomodation, and you MUST be available on the evening of the show (29th May). Tickets will be given to you outside the venue, and suitable proof of identity (passport, for example, and proof of address) will be required!

The very best of luck to you all...

COMPETITION NOW CLOSED! And the winner is..... Graham Burbage from the UK, picked from the many correct entries. Well done Graham, and commisserations to those who weren't fortunate this time around. The answers we were looking for are above.
