For those of you with large wallets, an urge to help out a very worthy charity, and a wish to own some unique Pink Floyd memorabilia from the London Live 8 concert, which featured Roger Waters reuniting with the others for the occasion, a trip to the online auction site eBay might be worthwhile.

Phil Thomas is organiser of the Bobby Bragg Celebrity Golf Day, run in aid of The Teenage Cancer Trust. Many of you will recall that David Gilmour took part in the 2004 TCT charity concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.

Phil is offering a very special pair of microphones, in an auction that runs until 3:57pm BST (GMT + 1 hour) on September 11th, with the proceeds going to the TCT. Here's his story about the mics, and how he came to be in possession of them:

Our friend Gareth Williams was Pink Floyd's monitor engineer at this year's Live 8 concert in London’s Hyde Park in July. Following Floyd's sensational performance, Gareth acquired David Gilmour’s microphone from Mark Saunders of Sennheiser UK, on behalf of our great friends Fairport Convention, who then donated it to the Bobby Bragg Celebrity Golf Day.

When Mark found out, he generously donated Roger Waters' microphone as well.

The two Neumann KMS 105 microphones were used only once, by David and Roger. Footage of them both during the concert is also included, on DVD. Both mic’s have their names on gaffer tape, and come complete with cases and clips. Both have a certificate of authentication.

The starting bid was set at £500, which is less than normal retail price for a pair of these high end microphones. Normal selling price is around £400 each, which is approximately US$735, or 585 Euros.

Fairport Convention are keen fundraisers for the TCT, recently donating nearly £30,000 from the sale of two CDs.
