Pink Floyd promo video & special Japanese Final Cut releases Print E-mail
Written by Matt

A new DVD has been released in Germany, called "Best Of Beat". This 22-track compilation includes Janis Joplin, The Byrds, and most importantly, Pink Floyd, and the frankly bizarre See Emily Play promo recorded in Brussels, Belgium, in 1968!

The promo video, featuring a fresh faced David Gilmour replacing Syd Barrett, who had left the band at that stage, was filmed in a park near what looks like a flyover or bridge. It features the band, making no attempt to mime to the song, playing an imaginary game of cricket, with Roger Waters using his bass guitar as a bat! You get brief flashes of Nick Mason "playing the drums", and trying to catch the imaginary ball in his hat. A very silly but fun video... The DVD, which is over an hour long, is currently available from our friends over at Floydstuff.com.

Floydstuff have also told us that EMI-Toshiba in Japan will be releasing this year's remastered edition of The Final Cut in a beautiful, limited edition mini-LP card sleeve. It will be available from June 16th.
