Pink Floyd on Channel 4 TV's 100 Greatest Albums Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Tuesday, 01 March 2005

Pink Floyd's classic 1973 album, Dark Side Of The Moon, has been nominated as one of the 100 Greatest Albums, in a forthcoming Channel 4 TV special in the UK.

We can reveal that the special, to be broadcast on April 17th at 9pm, includes newly recorded interviews with Roger Waters and David Gilmour in the Pink Floyd segment, and the programme itself is a look at "songs that have changed our lives, from singers and musicians spanning 50 years - from folk to rap, jazz to punk rock, R&B to glam rock".

The four-hour special, celebrating the greatest albums ever made, looks at the favourite songs of the nation, and reveals why and how each album came about.

Channel 4's panel of music industry experts have had the painstaking task of selecting 125 classic albums for you to choose from - a list that contains classic works from the likes of Elvis Presley, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Sex Pistols and Dusty Springfield, right through to current chart acts The Streets and Scissor Sisters, most notable for their cover of the Floyd's Comfortably Numb.

So, take a look at the nominations, and then vote for your ten favourite albums, making sure that you include Dark Side Of The Moon! [VOTING NOW CLOSED].
