Radio 2 Top 2000As we've mentioned in previous years, in the Netherlands, the public station Radio 2 has a very popular yearly countdown (from Christmas Day until New Year's Eve) of the 2000 best songs. Pink Floyd features heavily in the latest countdown, as they have done in previous years, with no less than eleven songs included, of which three are in the top 10.

Below are the Floyd tracks, along with how they've moved in the chart since last year. The poll itself is compiled from some 3 million voters across the Netherlands - about 20% of the population.

  • No. 6: Wish You Were Here (unchanged)
  • No. 8: Comfortably Numb (unchanged)
  • No. 9: Shine On You Crazy Diamond (up 1 place)
  • No. 56: Another Brick In The Wall (down 8 places)
  • No. 171: Echoes (up 9 places)
  • No. 277: Time (down 65 places)
  • No. 286: The Great Gig In The Sky (down 34 places)
  • No. 323: Money (down 52 places)
  • No. 534: One Of These Days (down 12 places)
  • No. 1322: See Emily Play (down 165 places)
  • No. 1374: Arnold Layne (down 296 places)

The chart itself is topped by Hotel California (The Eagles), followed by Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen), reversing their positions from the last two years, and Stairway To Heaven (Led Zeppelin) remains in third spot yet again. Our thanks to Engelbert Huckreide for his help with this information.
