Live 8 DVD - more details Print E-mail

The official Live 8 DVD website has had some updates in the last couple of days.

The DVD is set to feature the historic reunion between Roger Waters, and Pink Floyd, and includes more than just the set they played on 2nd July, with the inclusion of rehearsal and interview footage of the band.

The website - www.Live8LiveDVD.com - now gives the full tracklisting of the fourth DVD, which consists principally of extra material. See below for the details. It also has been updated with a gallery of pictures from the event, taken by various people (and four of our site's shots have made it into their selection!).

Coming soon to the site is an exclusive Sir Bob Geldof podcast, with the man himself talking about "the highs, the lows, the headaches and the triumphs as he and his team co-ordinated this historic event". You'll be able to download the juicy inside stories straight from the man who was pulling all the strings. As a taster, here's Geldof on asking Pink Floyd to reform: "I said [to David Gilmour] 'Dave you didn't even say goodbye to people' but he just wanted to do small stuff; so he played me three of the tunes he was doing now and I advised him to take quite a lot of speed."

Pink Floyd rehearsal and interview footage

As yet, we don't know the extent of the footage, or which rehearsals are included - either the dress rehearsals in Hyde Park, or the main rehearsals in the North London studios they used for three days prior to the show.
