Great new Roger Waters interview Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Wednesday, 30 July 2003

On July 23rd, Roger Waters was interviewed at length by Channel 2 in Iceland. The interview lasted for around 15 minutes all told, and revealed a number of very interesting insights!

He starts by talking of his love of fishing. He'd caught 17 salmon that day, and 36 fish on the preceding Sunday! He has been fishing seriously for around twenty years now...

The interview then progressed onto the music; his main work at the moment is to finish the opera. He's also written two or three new songs about the invasion of Iraq, a subject he felt strongly about. He gave his feelings about the war, and in detail, commented about the main protagonists involved. He also recited the lyrics to a new song - from memory - which was also about the subject. He commented: "Really, I should be putting the record out now, but, you know, there's FISHING!" This lead him on to talking about hunting, and his views on this.

This was a superb new interview, and our grateful thanks to our friend Hrafn who let us know about it, and got a copy to us. We will naturally be working on a transcription of most of it for you, so watch this space!
