Dream Theater play DSOTM in concert Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Thursday, 13 October 2005

Tuesday night saw progressive heavy rocker's Dream Theater perform their interpretation of Pink Floyd's 1973 classic, Dark Side Of The Moon.

The performance, at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, saw the album played in its entirety during the band's second set, and continues Dream Theater's tradition of covering a classic album whenever they perform a two-night run in the same city. Other albums they have covered include The Number Of The Beast (Iron Maiden) and Master Of Puppets (Metallica).

The performance was met with much acclaim, and the band are planning to play it again in London on october 25th. Joining the group for the performance was Mike Kidson on saxophone (from the Australian Pink Floyd Show) and vocalist Theresa Thomason, who has appeared with Dream Theater in the past.

We also hear that there might be plans to release this performance on DVD. Based on the number of emails we had about this show, Dream Theater have a strong following amongst Floyd fans - our thanks to all who have written about this appearance!
