David Gilmour on new Alan Parsons album Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Friday, 04 June 2004

It has now been announced that the new Alan Parsons album, "A Valid Path", will be released in August 2004 in the US (by 5.1 Entertainment), in Europe (by Eagle Rock), and in Japan (label to be confirmed). Of principal interest to visitors to this site is the fact that Pink Floyd front man David Gilmour guests on guitar.

The album will be Alan's first record without his long-time bandmates Ian Bairnson, and Stuart Elliott. The new album will take Alan in a new direction and into the world of electronica. Other than Gilmour, artists appearing on this record include: Nortec Collective, The Crystal Method, Shpongle, and PJ Olsson.

The cover artwork for "A Valid Path" (shown right) was created by Storm Thorgerson, who has been a long time collaborator with Floyd, and who sadly suffered a serious stroke in October last year. He is currently working his way through his recovery from this dramatic and life-changing setback.
