David Gilmour in Abbey Road rock'n'roll tribute concert Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Wednesday, 08 December 2004

A week or so ago, Pink Floyd's David Gilmour took part in a special concert held at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios, to record a a celebration of 50 years of rock'n'roll.

Scotty Moore, guitarist for Elvis Presley for the recording of That's Alright, Mama, which has been taken as the official starting point of rock'n'roll, in 1954, was joined by Ringo Starr (The Beatles), Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Bill Wyman (the Rolling Stones), Mark Knopfler, and David Gilmour, for the show which was recorded in high definition for release on DVD and CD during 2005.

We're just gathering more information what was played by whom, and more detail on the releases next year. As and when we have more for you, we'll let you know. In the meantime, our thanks to Nico from Signs Of Floyd for tipping us off about this show!
