Sunday, 20 February 2005

Pink Floyd's drummer Nick Mason spared some time this month to take part, unannounced, in a charity concert in aid of the Tsunami appeal. The concert, held at the Olympiad in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England, on February 5th, was a big draw, despite the presence of Nick not being known until he walked on stage.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald who supported the event, reported that "a thousand people enjoyed an entertainment fest in the name of charity at The Olympiad... raising £38,000 and bringing the weekend total for the Tsunami appeal to £50,000." All tickets sold out, at £20 a head (which included a buffet, as well). Their report went on:

Tuesday, 15 February 2005

With just a week or two left to contact us with donations, we've been blessed with more donations from kind fans worldwide. Here is the latest list of goodies up for grabs in our major Pink Floyd fundraising effort for the Tsunami victims. The raffle is a co-ordinated effort being run on a number of Floyd sites around the world.

The top prize, of course, is the 30th anniversary edition of Dark Side Of The Moon, signed by David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Richard Wright AND Roger Waters, who ALSO agreed to sign it!

This is only the third copy of the 30th anniversary DSOTM signed by all four, so a very unusual, and desirable, prize! Our thanks to the management teams of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters for co-ordinating this.
